Piccolo

(Reedless woodwind instrument)

About

The piccolo is the highest pitched of the woodwind instruments. Although played one octave higher, it produces sound in a way similar to a flute. This sharp-sounding instrument was initially aimed to make flute parts more prominent in a military band. Piccolos first came in the Key of Dâ™ but are now only sold in the Key of C. Piccolos are made of plastic, resin, brass, silver, and many types of hardwoods. Piccolo scores are usually written to intensify their timbre. Read more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piccolo
